Why use code names?
For safety reasons, we can’t publish the real names of readers inside Russia. But we still want to thank you — and show the world your courage, generosity, and support. So we came up with the idea of using code names. We wanted something simple, beautiful, and meaningful. Inspired by the anti-Nazi German resistance group the White Rose, we devised a formula for each name (a color + a plant name), and everything fell into place. After all, “Flower Power” is an anti-war slogan for a reason — because nature embodies life, and life prevails over death.
