These people are the few remaining "guardians" of truthful, objective, and comprehensive coverage of events from the perspective of a normal person, from the perspective of universal human values. I watched as "Echo of Moscow" was shut down. I saw the last broadcasts of "Dozhd" before its closure..."Novaya Gazeta"... And I understand that this gloom and dread is only the beginning of dark times. I reread "The Master and Margarita" many times and recall how Bulgakov described the 20s-30s of the last century..."Heart of a Dog", Platonov's "The Foundation Pit"... And I understand that "Brave New World" is before us again and is about to unfold. I no longer have hope for anything good in this world, just as I have no illusions about a better future. But such people, who found themselves in a storm amidst all this horror and chaos of the 20s of the 21st century, left their country, engulfed by a new plague, and continue to resist, remain human, and do professional journalism – they evoke boundless respect!
