It's suffocating from the screaming repulsive propaganda, from "traditional values" and "patriotism" that the authorities are actively pushing into all cracks. It's scary because of how the amount of what one can say and do without risking getting into trouble with the law is narrowing, and isolation from the outside world is increasing. This presses, and it is felt almost physically. And there's also a feeling of complete inability to influence anything. What can I do? Only write this letter and ask whoever can to support Meduza. Meduza allows me to receive objective information about what is happening in the world, gives me food for thought, warns me about dangers that may threaten me, and maintains connection with a more normal world. If Meduza is no more, then I and many other people living in Russia will be left alone with all this suffocating horror and in even greater isolation from the world, and such a prospect frightens me very much.
