Many, many years ago, when almost the entire staff of Lenta.ru left their posts following the dismissed Timchenko, I was still studying to be a journalist and dreamed of working in such an editorial office. I planned to write reports about rallies, about life in Russia, conduct investigations, and bring closer a free Russia. Alas, for real journalists (and not just them) it turned out to be oh so difficult in the last 10 years. And now, in fact, free Russian journalism is dying. Forgive me for such pathos, but how else, then? My relationship with Meduza is difficult to call simple; I still cannot forgive Meduza for the Kolpakov-gate, for example. But even despite this, I continue to read and listen to Meduza every day. This helps me to hold on, not to give up, and to have the strength to live in Russia of 2026. Therefore, if you can support Meduza with money, do it. Do it so that people from Russia can hold on.
