I recently turned 21, and I am from Moscow. Like many people here, I am locked in Russia. Our family has no money to move, and I lack the relevant work experience that would allow me to quickly settle into a new place. At the same time, I love my country. I like living surrounded by people who share the same cultural code as I do and understand that "being Russian" does not mean supporting any of the bloody horrors invented by our mad dictator. It means loving Russian culture, peacefully spreading it, and integrating it into world culture. Being a patriot means wishing for Russia to cultivate happy, intelligent, and educated people capable of being a "soft power" and contributing to improving the lives of humanity. Meduza is the media outlet that reminds me that there are still many people who think the same way. By breaking down complex topics in simple language, they allow us not only to prepare for the worst but also to hope for the best. Thanks to them, even when many Russians supported the war, I remembered that somewhere there are still smart people who value the objectivity of information and are willing to endure hardships to bring it to my fellow citizens.
