I am the grandson and great-grandson of people whom the Stalinist regime once imprisoned. One of them is a Hero of the USSR, one of the first discoverers of air routes. The other is a citizen of England, a journalist who for almost 40 years could not leave this country. He was acquainted with Sergei Parajanov, who was convicted here on charges related to LGBT. For me, this is not an abstract story — it is the story of my family. Now I myself am here, with the inability to fully determine my fate. And I understand how easily a person can end up in the clutches of the system. Therefore, I ask you to support "Meduza." So that someone's son, daughter, father, mother, grandfather, or sister do not find themselves in the same situation. Someday we will all be able to breathe out. But for now, "Meduza" remains for many an island of common sense and honest conversation. Support them — and those like me. And your future.
